In the beggining...

Hello, as my first blog post I wanted to give an introduction.

My Name is Jason. I live in a small town in central Indiana. I am currently a HR at a big box retailer. A few days ago we where informed our store will be closing down in 3 months.. The apparent reason is negotiations failed with the landlord.

I can't explain explain the shock that hit me when I found out. I was walking in the doors when I was flagged down by an employee. With tears they told me about the announcement. I didn't know what to think. I numbly walk to my office to let it sink in. Seconds later my store manager pulled me into his office. The district manager was waiting for me their. He informed me of the decision and my role in the closing of the store. He told me there was nothing we could have done better, and praised my work. Normally I would like to hear I was doing well, but under the circumstances it only made me feel worse. I have been doing a great job, and in payback I get nothing.

After a long day of talking to everybody, I came home to confront my own thoughts. To be honest the first few days I was in shock. I didn't know what to do or think. As the shock faded I began to think what my next step was. After much soul searching I decided I wanted to work for myself.

I realize working at home will not be easy, but I will have more control of my income. With my savings and severance package, I have a chance to try without starving. If in time I am unable to make a living online I will find a new job. Until then I will put all I have into earning online.
I would appreciate any tips I can get to online earnings. I plan on doing a lot of research in the next few months before completely jumping in.
